LC-PRIN (WMO-CIMO Lead Centre on Precipitation Intensity in Genova, Italy) is providing support to LSI LASTE in order to develop a high accuracy tipping-bucket rain gauge, suitable to the highest class of the Italian standard (UNI 11452-2012), and the associated raw data interpretation algorithms. Extensive laboratory testing of the prototype new gauge are envisaged, as well as the derivation of the optimal calibration parameters. The LC-PRIN will help designing a laboratory calibration rig for internal use at Lastem.
